Edgar’s Papercut (based on another free font that was slightly less developed called Paper Johnny) is a free font from Trier, Germany (the oldest city in germany!) based graphic design student/freelancer Lukas Bischoff. The font has a light, regular, bold and extra weight – with the extra having filled counters to add to its heavy cut out papery feel. Quigley Wiggly from Maryland based Nick Curtis at  Nick’s Fonts (he also did this funky germanic matterhorn font i had posted last year).. Quigley is a funky fresh script, when i first looked at the spec sheet for it, it didn’t really pop off the page for me – but set a few words with it, and POP! looks really nice and slick, flowing, fun and still legible. Download Quigley Wiggly TTF.

Rollergirls is a fun shareware font from Claes at FuelFonts “a small swedish typefoundry” – Fuel is a pretty well established name amongst typeface designers, having been putting together great shareware faces since 1997! Rollergirls is an ideal choice if you are looking for something that’s easy on the eyes and fun to use, and to make it a little more enjoyable – Claes has made the dots on the lowercase i and j from little hearts (for the most, upper and lower case letters are very similar in this face). The rollergirl letterforms are a little out of the ordinary, geometric and mix the angular with nice oblong roundess. Download Rollergirls TTF font from FuelFonts.

Jobbernole is a classic free font from Australian uddi uddi, a prolific freeware font designer from 1995-1999. This truetype face is nice and fun and a little bit quirky.Download Jobbernole TTF.

Veggieburger, one of the first font experiments from California based web, print and font designer Robbie Woodward at Woodward Works is a happy, care-free typeface with the legibility of a sans serif face and the light heartedness of a quirky hand drawn font (but not wretched like comic sans!). Supplied in three weights; light, regular and bold – it reminds me of a marriage between (apple) marker felt and (monotype) gill sans with a little bit of (adobe) Tekton mixed in, clean but still fun. Veggieburger would be great for summer time posters, cards, headlines, invitations, or grilled on a BBQ with some soy cheese. note –  the lower case g, e, and a are particularly funky. Download Veggieburger OTFs.

Organic Elements was a university design project for UK based Nerys Evans,  and it features unique flowing organic elements – so the name is perfectly suited for this beautiful face with interesting swashes and ligatures. Download Organic Elements TTF.

Que FONTita! from European web designer-artist  Felipe Millon is another fun hand-drawn sans serif quirky SNORT POW! thing with some fun added via some illustrations and words around the caps. some letters are dark, some are light. fun stuff. Download Que Fontita! OTF.
