ABC font typeface – version 2, from an English designer named FOX. It’s pretty simple and it’s really all that you need if you break it down to the bare essentials. What did they say, Accentuate the positive.. this font is positively geometric and an easy choice if you need a straight forward bauhausy face without a little less Bayer influence and a little more funkiness. it’s too fast. it’s too furious. also it’s a pretty cool block face from Magique Fonts – with upper case, lower case, and not much more .. but when you are spraying you don’t need much more, right vin? a nice font for starting some block logo designs or headlines. Download the TTF.

Lane

Lane, from the prolific Apostrophic Labs is supplied in three versions – Narrow, Posh, and Upper. Narrow is just the nice, elegant plain jane none stylized version of this thin face. Posh adds the knockout stroke drop shadow look. Upper adds a funky underlined lower case variant to the mix, with underlined lower case vowels being the only thing different from the narrow version. Pretty funky when you need it to be, or just simple if that’s what you are looking for. Download the three LANE truetype faces.

Nobile

Nobile from Vernon Adams – a furniture restorer, woodcarver and typeface designer – via newtypo is licensed under the SIL Open Font License. Nobile is designed to work with the technologies of digital screens and handheld devices without losing the distinctive look more usually found in fonts designed for printing. Going back to William Morris’s baseline “Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful”, the aim was to design a font that could function well, have good legibility on screen yet also be good loooking, not only at larger display sizes but also right down to small text sizes. Lacuna

Lacuna is a clean sans/semi-sans serif freeware font from Cologne based Peter Hoffman of Glashaus Design. A bit like Akagi Medium perhaps, Lacuna is a nice, simple face with endless possibilities. LCD Phone

LCD Phone, from Raul Andres Perez Canseco at Dibujos en Linea is a simple face composed of blocks that resemble a liquid crystal display, sort of like on an old alarm clock or maybe a phone. Jack Frost – “an official jasoncat5 font” from Eternal Maelstrom Studios (no further information available at this time) says “the 5% nation of shin megami tensei schoolgirl serial killers” – i like this font, and maybe its just because the o looks like an apple and i am a little bit hungry right now, but it has also got some interesting organic sprouting going on, leaves-off shoots-branches and also a little bit on the techy side. Zado, from Texas based Daniel Zadorozny at Iconian Fonts is supplied in regular, bold, condensed, semi-condensed and expanded. A very basic techno dotty typeface, simple and just made up of a series of squares – may be a good starting point for a logo or a hard to read headline. Download Zado.
